OBJECT_DESCRIPTION_EN :
This puppet has several qualities of movement and dexterity. It walks, moves its arms and rotates its head.
The puppet walks on the ground plane and the raised plane of the scenography. The strings dimension from the puppet to the control handle had to be calculated by articulating the distance needed for manipulation on the ground and for manipulation above the scenography. As this puppet works with pendulums, weights, speeds and oscillations, exhaustive experimentation is necessary in order to make the most of the figure's movement capabilities.
It has a rod to which its hands are attached, which also serves as a tool for carrying buckets of water.
The scenography has a set of schemes and mechanisms that allow the puppet to support itself in its different positioning needs.
OBJECT_CONTEXT_EN :
The puppet symbolizes a boy who goes to the well to fetch water, exploring a folk tale of the Douro River that speaks of the Moors who run the fado. Enchanted beings transform themselves into creatures to prevent people from approaching the water, which is believed to hold treasures.
