OBJECT_DESCRIPTION_EN :
We can identify in this puppet a set of intentions that are part of what is then presented as a message to the audience. It adds an animalistic component, resembling a four-legged being that walks through the scenic device, being inspired by robot dogs, making an approximation to a war and surveillance machine.
The puppet face is presented in the form of a screen, where short videos of an actor's partial face are shown, as well as images that reflect emotional, aggressive, contrasting, austere and angry states. This puppet has a device that allows the manipulator to select the videos shown, so it is a manipulation with completely different qualities depending on the objectives of the scene.
A small drone emerges from inside the puppet and flies over the audience, conveying the primary purpose for which these drones were created: war machines.
The character's legs are made up of scissors and a blue pencil that draws on the scenography paper. This is in contrast to the blue pencil used by PIDE to censor texts and documents that did not comply with the directives of the fascist regime. A regime that endeavored to maintain ideological and moral conformity by suppressing information and manipulating language. The action of cutting, tearing, and scratching reflects the violence underlying censorship, which removes pieces of the truth.
The metaphor of the scissors suggests the duality of the figure of the Censor: on the one hand, they have a duty to protect morality and social order; on the other, this protection often involves suppressing freedom of expression and artistic freedom. The scissor-like paws, as well as the blue pencil, symbolize the ability to review, alter and eliminate any material that is considered dangerous. Blue takes on a negative connotation in this scenario.
